WAX, WICKS & FRAGRANCE

WAX

We source the highest grade wax available in Europe. A rapeseed and coconut blend, it is completely natural and has a creamy texture and low melting point to allow superb scent throw, whether the candle is lit or not. It is completely free from paraffin, soy, palm, beeswax and synthetic additives.

WICKS

The default wick for a scented candle is single, however we have tested our candles extensively and found that due to the high percentage of fragrance oils that we use in each Signature candle, you get a better burn and fragrance throw with a dual wick. The dual wick also allows the melt pool to reach the edge of the container, which prevents tunnelling.

For the first burn trim the wick to 3-5mm. The first burn should be approximately 1.5 to 2 hours or until the heat has has created a wide melt pool to the edge of the container. We test between 18 and 22 degrees, and ambient temperatures will affect the burning of your Cera candle; if colder, or in a breeze, the melt pool may not go quite to the edge.

FRAGRANCE

We want your Cera candle to deliver scent in its cold or hot state all the way through. The oils and essences that we use give the most accurate representation of the scent.

The fragrance used in Cera Natural is created with natural compounds. These are materials physically obtained from plants using distillation, expression and extraction. Natural fragrances are complex compositions of natural aromatic raw materials such as essential oils, fractions of essential oils, isolates and exudates.

They are more sustainable than pure essential oils.

The fragrance used in Cera Pure is created with non-endangered essential oils...

nothing else.

CONTAINERS

Cera candles come in our Signature matt black glass 30cl container, however we currently offer all Signature fragrances in the range in three sizes of concrete container from our collaboration with Smith & Goat. The concrete candles are made to order and will take approximately 7 working days from order to delivery.

For Cera Pure and Cera Natural we make our own containers from jesmonite, an eco-friendly water based resin.

We also create marbled  jesmonite containers for our limited edition candles.
