Here are tips for safely prolonging the life of your candle
The first time you burn your Cera candle, allow it to burn for at least two hours, until the whole top is liquid with wax. This will help your candle burn more evenly the next time.
Your candle may burn up to 50 hours.
Trim the Wick.
Before lighting your Cera candle trim the wick to 1/4 inch length. By shortening the wick you allow it to burn more slowly and also avoid unsightly black smoke marks around the edge of the glass.
Realign the Wick.
After blowing out your candle recentre and straighten the wick.
Never leave a lit candle unattended as this could be a fire risk. Always place your candle on a level, heat resistant, non flammable surface away from fabric or curtains. Choose an area free from drafts to avoid uneven burning. Do not place your candle on a marble or glass surface; if the bottom of the hot candle glass comes in contact with a cold material, the glass may crack.
Additional care instructiions.
As these candles are made from recycled prosecco bottles they have slightly different care instructions to our usual candles:
There is an inverted well (punt) in the bottom of the vessel so the candle has a double wick, one placed on either side of the punt.
Once you can see the top of the punt, your candle is finished ... Do not burn past this point despite there being wax left on either side. The candle has been priced to reflect the burn time down to this point.
If you want to use the wax that’s left you can scoop a small amount out (8-10 grams) and use it in an oil burner like a wax melt.
Re-centre the wicks when required, to stop them leaning out towards the glass.
